Like so many good things in life, our relationship starts with a conversation. But not just any conversation. Given everyone’s unique, we want to understand your lifestyle, your dreams, your goals and your limitations before we even begin to think about advising on plan for your retirement. Everybody’s situation presents a puzzle and no two are the same. It just so happens that solving the puzzle is our life’s work and passion.

As opposed to the ‘percent-preparedness’ or best guesses used by many advisors who charge a lot of money for little more than speculation, we use sophisticated modeling software. This allows us to properly analyze retirement projections, create distribution plans, and assess investment risk. Given planning is such a crucial step in the process, we do not charge our clients for this service (unlike most ‘advisors’). Instead, we work soley on a commission basis.

Together, we’ll approach your retirement investment strategy in three stages:

  • The Earning Years

  • Nearing Retirement

  • Retirement

The Earning Years

Whether you’re 20 years old or 40 years young, the earning years will likely comprise the bulk of your life. With mortgages or vehicles to pay for, and kids to feed, clothe and put through school we know it can be difficult to even comprehend retiring. Truth is, even while cash may be tight, there’s no better time to start planning. After our initial meetings we can suggest surprisingly easy ways to free up extra money. As always, funding your retirement is a choice and we’ll show you how smart choices truly add up over time.

During the earning years, our strategy centers around goal-based planning. For retirement, we may be looking at a 401(k) allocations and rollovers, Traditional, Roth or SEP IRAs. 403(b)/ TSA setup and management. Whatever works best for your situation.  If your childrens’ college savings are in play, we can help make sense of various 529 plans. If a down payment on a home is in your future, it’s wise to consider a XXXWhat?XXX. While this all may seem overwhelming, we’re well-versed in sensible strategies built on measured, personal levels of risk tolerance.

The earning years strategy can also include income protections like life insurance acquisition, a critical facet of ongoing family security. We’re deeply experienced in helping our clients sift through the endless filed of options to find the best rates and appropriate coverage.

Nearing Retirement

The gravy days are nearing. Let’s say, five years out. Retirement’s peaking over that horizon and you’re doing your best not to check the stock market every hour. Getting that close can be stressful, and frankly, we understand no one wants to end up with too much life left at the end of their money. As you transition from asset accumulation toward distribution, we’re unique in that we advise moving toward lower-risk strategies to protect your hard-earned assets. Yes, that’s a little more work on our end, but it’s the smart move and good news: These lower-risk strategies still offer excellent opportunity for financial growth.

This is also when to begin thinking about long-term care insurance in the event you or loved ones need extended treatment. Instead of incurring massive debt during retirement and risk depleting your assets, we help you think through a proactive, affordable approach to long-term care, then source the right provider and treatment plan that’s close-to-home or even in-home.

Retirement

You made it and life is even sweeter than expected. No more work, just all playtime. It’s everything you’d hoped for, with one caveat: There’s still that little voice on your shoulder telling you to worry about market fluctuations. Fear not, that’s common and with us, you’re never alone.

To be frank, we want our clients to live richly, not just die wealthy so we plan for that. Even during your retirement years, we’re by your side and regularly meeting with you to review and fine-tune the performance of your assets. We also offer estate planning to give you peace-of-mind. Rest assured, with proper planning, your assets will be passed on to those who truly deserve it.

Note: Jason will need to work with Keith on the correct messaging for this section.
